Fantasy Football Wk3 Update

My Raffle team should win it's game this week (*knock on wood*), but my CBS team is losing again and with bye weeks coming up, I may be in trouble. Will need for my reserves to make a difference...

QB: Delhomme, Jake CAR
Roethlisberger, Ben PIT
RB: Addai, Joseph IND
Foster, DeShaun CAR
Henry, Travis DEN
White, LenDale TEN
WR: Evans, Lee BUF
Houshmandzadeh, T.J. CIN

Lee Evans is taking up a roster spot and is looking for more and more like a wasted draft pick. With Losman's injury, it ain't looking good for the Bills.

Fantasy Football Wk2 Update

So far my teams are doing ok. My CBS sportsline team is 1-1 and my Raffle team is 2-0. I also have a Yahoo team (1-1) that I joined just to have another team, but not too serious about that one.

I could have won my CBS FF game if QB Campbell was able to hit WR Santana Moss on that bomb at the end of the game. I lost that game by 6 and the TD + yardage would have won the game for me. Aarrgg... :-)

Need a WR for my CBS team and have been combing the waiver wire for anything, but not much available.

My Raffle team draft is starting to look better and better. This is a keeper league and teams can keep up to 8 players so there was not much available in the draft. I got Jamal Lewis, Chris Brown, and Lamont Jordan for RBs in the draft! Below is the current (updated) roster:

QB: Favre,Brett GB
Garrard,David JAX
RB: Brown,Chris TEN
Jordan,Lamont OAK
Lewis,Jamal CLE
McAllister,Deuce NO
Washington,Leon NYJ
Young, Selvin DEN
WR: Colston,Marques NO
Driver,Donald GB
Muhammad,Muhsin CHI
Owens,Terrell DAL
Porter,Jerry OAK
TE: Winslow Jr, Kellen CLE
PK: Folk, Nick DAL
Stover,Matt BAL
Def:Carolina CAR

UH (-17.5) at UNLV

UH will be travelling to Las Vegas later this week after returning to what I'll call their temporary training camp in Houston for practices and game prep.

Early "read" on this game is that UNLV is another team that wants to try and run the ball. They tried against Wisconsin (#5) team last week and couldn't get it going, but still kept the game close, losing 20-13 as a 4-TD underdog. They will be a 17 pt underdog to UH, but may be able to keep it closer if UH has problems with the UNLV running game.

UH 45-44 over Louisiana Tech

Offense: Tried to run the ball some and did get a good run to score it's first touchdown, but overall this part of the offense needs work. Colt didn't have his best game and was a little off on his passes, but he was good enough to bring the team back time and again. OL needs to work on protection as Colt was getting hit alot in this game. Much kudos to PK Dan Kelly who made the clutch, clutch 49 yd FG to put the game into overtime.

Defense: Struggled to stop the RBs of La Tech and passing of QB Champion in the first half. They did better second half and made some plays to get the ball back to the offense. In the OT, the defense came through to stop the gutsy, gutsy 2 pt conversion attempt. Phew.

UH 45 - 44 over Louisiana Tech (WOW!)

WOW!

What a game! What a big game for Hawaii.

PK Dan Kelly, after all his struggles, blasts a clutch 49 yd FG to put the game into overtime.

After UH scores a quick TD in it's overtime possesion, La Tech comes back to score a TD, then decides to go for TWO?!?

CB Gerard Lewis makes the CLUTCH pass deflection on the gutsy 2 pt conversion attempt to win it for Hawaii!!!

WOW!

UH (-28) at Louisiana Tech

UH travels to Rustin, La for the 5th meeting (UH leads 4-1) between these two teams. UH won 61-17 the last time they met.

Early "read" on this game is that LaTech will test the UH defense to see if they can stop the run. If not, the game could be closer than expected.

UH 63 - 6 over Northern Colorado

Offense: Like I said in my previous post, the UH offense picked right up where it left off. Colt only played the first half completing 34-40 passes and 6 TDs with 400+ yds. Add on a kick off return and a punt return later for good measure.

Defense: The defense shutdown Northern Colorado keeping them on their side of the field most of the game. UH just seemed to be stronger than the NC players. Their hitting was crisp and made good one on one tackles. Not many missed tackles from what I saw.

My one worry during and after the game was the lack of rushing (Brennan was the leading rusher) to compliment the passing game. The shuffle passes were good to take the place of running plays, but I would have felt better if they showed that they could run the ball with Pilares or Farmer.

Former RB Nate Ilaoa had almost 1000 yards rushing last year and was good enough for opponents to respect the run. I just hope someone or the RBBC can prevent opponents from just keying on stopping the pass.

UH leaves wednesday for road games at Louisiana Tech and Nevada-Las Vegas.
